The International Conference "Teaching is Touching the Future – Emphasis on Skills"

November 29th – 30th, 2012, on the campus of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

The Gutenberg Teaching Council at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is sponsoring the next conference in the "Teaching is Touching the Future" series that was initiated at the Ruhr University Bochum in 2011 and is thus promoting the dialog on the future of university teaching.

At the conference "Teaching is Touching the Future – Emphasis on Skills," participants will discuss a fundamental reorientation in terms of academic teaching and learning at German universities toward a more learner-centered approach. In talks and posters, the results of research and practical examples related to this "shift from teaching to learning" will be presented and then discussed in disciplinary and interdisciplinary contexts.
